Why are these two successful and talented rappers feuding?
Lil' Kim rose to fame in the 1990's she's known for her affair with rapper Biggie Smalls, and her hyper sexual lyrics, as well as hits such as "How Many Licks", "Crush on You", "Shut Up", "Whoa", "Lighters Up", etc.
Nicki Minaj is 2010's rookie rapper of the year. and she's the only female rapper who's had a hit single in a few years. probably since Eve's "Tambourine" in 2006. she's currently signed to Ca$h Money Records and her album "Pink Friday" is due on November 23rd of this year.
These to have so much in common. they both wear colored wigs. they are both very sexually explicit. so if they're so similar, why are they fighting?
Lil' Kim feels that Nicki Minaj took subliminal, direct, and indirect shots at her. Kim claims that Nicki stole her style as well. the colored wigs, the entire Barbie movement, her sexuality, etc. Kim also claims Nicki has insulted her through her lyrics. Also Kim claims that Nicki said F*ck you to all of the Lil' Kim fans on twitter. and that she took a subliminaljab at Lil' Kim by sayin 'Did I kill a Queen" on Diddy's Record "Hello/Good Morning."
Nicki has remained relatively silent about the feud. but her labelmate Drake came to her defense in an recent interview, saying that Kim is "just upset" and that "Nicki Minaj has paid homage to her."
Whatever the real reason for this feud is, one thing is for certain, "it isn't helping the advancement of women in hip hop, and it's just embarassing." claims fellow female rapper Trina.
